Lifeline HomeCare at a glance
WHO WE ARE
Lifeline HomeCare was the brainchild of James Terill Wilson and Dr. William M. Selvidge who had developed close personal friendships in the late 1970’s. JT, came from a Health Care Administration background while Doctor Bill was a practicing pediatrician.
After starting Lifeline Home Health Care in 1984 the partners soon realized a growing need for a non-medical personal care service agency. So, in 1989 they decided to open Lifeline HomeCare and were shortly awarded their first contract. Thus, Lifeline began by serving non-medical clients in the 10 county Lake Cumberland Area Development District and thankfully have continually served the LCADD for 35 years!
Now we are serving almost 1,000 clients with contracts in 7 of Kentucky’s 15 Area Development Districts.
WHAT WE DO
Lifeline HomeCare, Inc. has been focused since day 1 on servicing clients thru contracts with Area Development Districts throughout our Commonwealth. This Program is funded through the Department of Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) which provides oversight.
The past decade has seen both a need and awareness for these services explode, and we currently provide services to a growing number and variety of clients including:
- Veterans (Community Care/Aid & Attendance),
- Various Insurance Plans
- Private out-of-pocket
Specifically, we provide ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING (ADL) which are:
- Personal Care-help w hygiene, nutrition and dressing.
- Housekeeping-help maintain safe and sanitary environment.
- Escort-(i.e. transportation to Doctor appointments or other appointments).
- Respite-provide companionship and comfort.
These ADL’s have been proven to influence the SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH by:
- Reducing hospital admissions
- Shortening hospital length of stays
- Lowering hospital re-admission rates
- Allowing individuals to age in the comfort and safety of their homes
- Postponing or with family support eliminating Nursing Home & ALF
institutionalization entirely!
In short, Lifeline HomeCare has dedicated their 35 year history to helping Kentuckians age and remain at home before, during and after any exacerbating health issues!
WHEN WE DO IT
Services can be provided in any manner the client needs & the Payor source approves:
