The Homemaker & Home Health Aide Care

The Homemaker & Home Health Aide Care benefit is available to Veterans only (not spouses), and provides the in-home personal support and assistance needed to help with Activities of Daily Living.

This VA-approved program offers:

  • Personalized care from trusted providers like Lifeline HomeCare
  • Help with daily activities, from bathing and dressing to meal preparation
  • Respite care to give your loved ones a much-needed break

 

*This benefit can be combined with Aid and Attendance.

 

Program of comprehensive assistance for Family Homegivers (PCAFC)

As a dedicated family member caring for a Veteran, you deserve recognition and assistance. The PROGRAM OF COMPREHENSIVE ASSISTANCE FOR FAMILY CAREGIVERS (PCAFC) is designed to provide the support you need to ensure your Veteran receives the best possible care.

This comprehensive program offers:

  • A monthly stipend for the primary caregiver
  • At least 30 days of respite care per year
  • Access to mental health services and caregiver training
  • Home modifications and medical equipment

VA Aid and Attendance

  • Help for disabilities or illnesses that make independent living a challenge

Veteran-Directed Care (VDC)

That’s where Veteran-Directed Care (VDC) steps in, empowering you to manage your own care and live independently in the comfort of your own home. With VDC, you have the flexibility to hire your own caregivers, tailoring your support to your unique needs to assist you with Activities of Daily Life. With VDC, you can:

 

  • Hire the caregivers you choose to help you age comfortably at home
  • Receive 30 days of respite care each year to give your family a much-needed break
  • Combine VDC with the Aid and Attendance benefit for even more support
